Inside the PMA: The Legal Engine Powering the Freedmen Reparations Fund Trust

Behind the Freedmen Reparations Fund Trust is a powerful legal structure that protects every Verified Freedmen member—the Private Membership Association, or PMA.

While the Trust manages reparations, land initiatives, credit programs, and legal declarations, it is the PMA that establishes the legal foundation for these operations to exist independently from government control, racial redefinition, or nonprofit interference.

This is how the Trust secures private reparations, cultural protection, and identity governance for Freedmen—on Freedmen terms.

What Is a Private Membership Association (PMA)?

A Private Membership Association is a lawful structure based on the constitutional rights of freedom of association and privacy. It allows individuals to form private relationships and conduct private business without public interference, as long as those activities stay within the membership.

  • Protected by the First and Fourteenth Amendments

  • Legally recognized by courts and IRS rulings

  • Not subject to general public regulation or agency oversight

  • Bound by private contract law, not racial definitions or public policy

The Freedmen Nation PMA uses this structure to ensure only Verified Freedmen can access the rights, reparations, and programs offered under the Freedmen Reparations Fund Trust.

Why the PMA Matters for Freedmen

Public systems have repeatedly failed to protect the Freedmen identity. From forced reclassification under “Black” to the exploitation of Juneteenth by non-Freedmen groups, history has shown that public exposure invites dilution.

The PMA protects against that.

Through the PMA, the Trust maintains full authority over:

  • Genealogical Verification

  • Reparations Distributions

  • Cultural Licensing (Juneteenth, Freedmen names, etc.)

  • Legal Enforcement (via the American Freedmen Legal Fund)

  • Internal Economic Systems (Freedmen Credit Units, Land Transfers)

Every function is internal, private, and exclusive to members. No outsider, nonprofit, or government entity can intervene, repurpose, or redefine any of it.

Membership Without Obligation

One of the most significant benefits of the PMA structure is that it offers full protection and access without requiring participation. Once you are verified:

  • You are not required to attend meetings

  • You are not required to volunteer or work for the Trust

  • You are not forced to disclose private data to any outside agency

  • You may use or delay benefits as you choose

You are not obligated to do anything, yet you are fully protected and eligible.

This is the essence of reparative dignity: no strings, no contracts of performance, no institutional control.

A Legal Shield for a Distinct People

The PMA is not just a tool—it is a legal shield that allows the Freedmen community to define itself, fund itself, and protect itself.

  • It secures Freedmen culture from appropriation

  • It protects reparations from dilution

  • It prevents state interference in our internal affairs

  • It guarantees that verification, benefits, and rights remain under Freedmen control—forever

No nonprofit. No racial proxies. No shifting federal definitions. Just a private, secured structure built by and for Freedmen.

How to Join

Becoming a member of the PMA requires only two steps: verified Freedmen status.

Once verified, you are automatically enrolled into the PMA. You are protected under its authority, eligible for benefits, and free to participate at your discretion.

Visit  https://www.freedmennation.org/status-check to begin the genealogy verification process. Your membership under the PMA begins the moment your verification is approved.

Summary

The Private Membership Association under the Freedmen Reparations Fund Trust is how we:

  • Enforce self-governance

  • Secure reparative benefits

  • Protect our cultural and political identity

  • Operate outside systems that have historically excluded us

This is not just a structure. It is a sovereign foundation for a protected people.

Once you’re inside, no one else has jurisdiction. That is the power of the PMA.

The PMA Provides FBA members unlimited, yet necessary tools and resources for

Historical wrongs, damages, harms, pain and suffering, induced by a systemically, abusive society towards it's peoples.

Yet to be legally acknowledged by elected officials, but soon, SCOTUS will answer the

question...And a debt owed, will follow.

PAID-IN-FULL...RECIEPTS issued to FBA Recipients.

A Classification of Special No.15; Birthright American Citizens.
