Updated: Jun 16

Updated June 16, 2025 - Freedmen Nation is officially in soft opening, and we’re building a foundation that will guide generations of Freedmen into the future. We’re now accepting applications for Work Group Administrators and volunteers—leaders who are ready to organize, build, and protect Freedmen interests at every level of our national initiative.

Each Work Group plays a critical role in restoring and advancing the Freedmen class—handling everything from legal defense and genealogy verification to economic development and land acquisition.

Note: The Media, Outreach, & Communications Work Group already has an assigned Administrator. All other Work Groups are currently open.

What’s Happening Now

We are currently assembling a team of dedicated Administrators who will be responsible for organizing their assigned Work Group and preparing it for national operations. Once our Administrator base is in place, we will begin approving general membership applications from verified Freedmen.

This is our foundation. Your leadership now will shape the structure, tone, and reach of Freedmen Nation for decades.

As we begin, all roles are voluntary, as we work together to build up the Freedmen Reparations Fund Trust and lay the groundwork for long-term infrastructure, advocacy, and reparative action.

Evolving Work Group Structure & Leadership Boards

  • New Work Groups will be added as the needs of Freedmen Nation evolve.

  • Some Work Groups will transition into elected Boards responsible for strategic oversight and representing the national voice of Freedmen Nation.

  • We are also seeking a Lead Administrator to oversee and coordinate all Work Group Administrators—ensuring communication, timelines, and objectives stay aligned across departments.

We’re Also Looking for Clerks

In addition to Administrators, we are now accepting applications for Clerks who will assist in organizing and protecting internal documents, records, and communications.

Clerks will help:

  • Keep critical documentation organized and accessible within each Work Group.

  • Ensure all records remain secure and restricted from unauthorized export outside of Freedmen Nation.

  • Support document compliance, filing, and archiving in coordination with the Trust Oversight & Compliance Work Group.

If you’re detail-oriented, reliable, and understand the importance of protecting Freedmen infrastructure—this role is for you.
