The Freedmen Reparations Fund Trust has released a white paper originally prepared for the U.S. Supreme Court in Case No. 24A886. It defends the original intent of the 14th Amendment: to secure citizenship for American Freedmen, not to serve as a blanket policy of universal birthright.
This paper offers legal and historical evidence that the Citizenship Clause was enacted as a direct remedy for formerly enslaved Americans—and must be interpreted in that context.
