Trust Declares Sole Authority to Issue Genealogy Certifications for Verified Freedmen

On May 15, 2025, the Freedmen Reparations Fund Trust officially issued the Declaration of Authority to Issue Certification of Genealogy, asserting its exclusive power to verify and certify the genealogy of individuals qualifying as Verified Freedmen.

This historic declaration reaffirms what has long been practiced under Trust Law: no individual is required to obtain certification from any third-party genealogical organization or government agency to be recognized under the Trust’s private verification system. The Freedmen Reparations Fund Trust is the sole legal entity authorized to issue these certifications, and its process is fully governed within the jurisdiction of Trust Law.

The declaration makes clear that:

  • Genealogy certifications issued by the Trust are legally valid within its programs and partnerships;

  • External or “Certified Genealogist” credentials are not required nor recognized for individuals verified under the Trust’s governance;

  • All institutions, programs, or entities that license the Trust’s verification system are bound to honor these certifications;

  • Unauthorized duplication or misuse of the Trust’s certification structure is enforceable under the Trust’s Intellectual Property & Identity Protection Authority.

This measure strengthens the legal framework protecting Verified Freedmen, shields the community from forced racial classification or unauthorized standards, and solidifies the Trust’s role as the lawful steward of Freedmen identity.
