The Freedmen Reparations Fund Trust is actively seeking Verified Freedmen to serve as Clerks within the Documents & Archives Department under Freedmen Nation.
Clerks will work directly with Department Administrators to support internal operations, help manage Trust documentation, and ensure that our governance systems remain orderly, secure, and verifiable.
Position Overview
Title: Freedmen Nation Clerk
Department: Documents & Archives
Status: Volunteer (with transition to paid compensation)
Reports to: Department Administrators
Eligibility: Verified Freedmen Only
Responsibilities
Clerks will assist Administrators with:
Uploading and archiving key Trust records and filings
Labeling and maintaining internal document systems
Processing genealogy and verification documents
Organizing historical, legal, and compliance materials
Supporting administrative requests across departments

The stability and power of our reparative framework relies on organized records and historical accuracy. Clerks help uphold this system by ensuring that the Freedmen Nation’s documents are properly managed and protected, especially as the Trust expands.
Volunteer-to-Paid Transition
This is a volunteer-based role during the current growth phase of the Trust. However, as our revenues reach sustainability targets, these Clerk roles will transition into paid positions. Clerks who demonstrate reliability and integrity will be first considered for hiring and advancement.
Qualifications
Strong attention to detail and task completion
Reliable communication and coordination with Administrators
Basic digital literacy and access to a computer/internet
Willingness to learn and follow Trust confidentiality procedures
Must be a Verified Freedmen with aligned values
