The Freedmen Reparations Fund Trust (FRFT) has issued a landmark declaration establishing new protections for vulnerable and high-risk groups of Verified Freedmen.
The Declaration of Trust Shielding & Protected Classes legally defines special classes of Freedmen who face disproportionate exploitation, harm, or misrepresentation—and brings them under the exclusive protection and jurisdiction of the Trust.
Protected Groups Include:
Verified Freedmen Military Veterans
Elders (Age 65+)
Medically Vulnerable or Disabled Freedmen
Heirs and those defending historical Freedmen estates
Freedmen Children (under 18)
Cultural Icons and Family Historians registered with the Trust
Key Protections Enforced by the Trust
Blocks unauthorized use of their identity, likeness, or history
Shields land, assets, and estates from seizure or sale
Activates legal protection via the American Freedmen Legal Fund
Prohibits unlicensed engagement by nonprofits, researchers, and political actors
Allows emergency shielding status for those facing harassment or eviction
Why It Matters
This declaration empowers the Trust to intervene, defend, and govern over those who have often been excluded or exploited in the public sphere.
It enforces status-based protection, not race-based generalizations, ensuring Verified Freedmen are shielded as a sovereign class under the law of the Trust.
