What’s New in This Report

From June 2024 through April 26, 2026, AFLF has:

  • Conducted 440+ pre-litigation Legal Advocacy actions, including formal notices, FOIA filings, regulatory correspondence, and enforcement activity

  • Contributed 4,900+ hours of direct Legal Advocacy work, averaging 50+ hours per week

  • Executed 20+ Legal Advocacy Engagement Agreements supporting Verified Freedmen beneficiaries

  • Continued operating under a pre-litigation-first model, resolving most matters before court involvement

  • Supported 4 beneficiaries in court-related matters, while maintaining non-litigation positioning

This work continues to cover housing, school governance, civil rights, consumer protection, mortgage servicing, cultural protection, and institutional accountability.

Expanded Work: Land, Assets, and Historical Preservation

This report reflects continued expansion beyond traditional Legal Advocacy:

  • 32 acres of land successfully reclaimed through Legal Advocacy and documentation

  • 3 ongoing land reclamation efforts currently being supported

  • 2 Historical Marker initiatives underway in Kentucky and Texas

These efforts represent a growing focus on land recovery, asset protection, and historical preservation.

Financial Transparency

  • Total Funds Raised: $41,307

  • Financial categories are cumulative and increase with each reporting period

  • Remaining balance: $0.00, reflecting a near-zero retained balance model

As documented in the report, all funds are applied directly to:

  • Legal Advocacy

  • Infrastructure

  • Documentation and beneficiary support

Financial reporting remains cumulative, traceable, and audit-ready.
