Boycott: Black Lives Matter Turns Its Back on George Floyd & Breonna Taylor

ree

On February 16, 2025, we sent a formal email to Black Lives Matter (BLM) requesting that they allocate funding to support the protection of the names and likenesses of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. These two individuals became global symbols of racial injustice—images that BLM widely used to raise tens of millions of dollars in donations and political capital.

We called on BLM to do the right thing: financially assist the estates of Floyd and Taylor so they can defend their legacies from unauthorized and exploitative use. Since then, there has been no response. No acknowledgement. No accountability.

This silence is not just disappointing—it is telling. It reveals a pattern where the names of murdered Freedmen are elevated for fundraising and media optics, yet their families are left to fend for themselves when legal, financial, or moral support is needed most.

As of today, Freedmen Nation is officially adding Black Lives Matter to our Boycott List.

This means we will no longer promote, support, or collaborate with BLM in any form until they publicly address and rectify this issue. If you raise money off the deaths of our people, you must be held accountable to them—not just in the streets, but in courtrooms, in boardrooms, and in the community.

We stand for truth, integrity, and reparative action—not performative activism.

Freedmen Nation will always prioritize the families, legacies, and economic rights of American Freedmen over popularity or politics.
