These documents allow Verified Freedmen families to assert exclusive parental authority and block any irreversible procedures or ideologically driven education imposed without consent.

By submitting the Opt-In Form, Verified Freedmen parents are:
Invoking the legal protections of the Trust over their minor child;

Recent legislation, such as New York State Bill S04914B/A05480C, enables medical or institutional decisions to be made without parental consent and shields those responsible from liability. This Trust Declaration blocks that from applying to Verified Freedmen children.
