Now Recruiting: Genealogy Trainees to Support Freedmen Verification

Freedmen Nation is launching its first official Genealogist Certification Pathway—designed to train and certify Freedmen to help verify other Freedmen.


As the demand for reparative justice grows, the need for trusted internal verification has never been more urgent. This certification program creates a powerful opportunity: Verified Freedmen can now be trained to support others in tracing their family history back to U.S. chattel slavery—helping build the case for reparations, land rights, and legal protection.

Who We’re Looking For


We are now accepting applications for Genealogist Recruits—the entry-level trainees in the certification process.


To qualify, you must:


  • Be a Verified Freedmen

  • Have a willingness to learn, research, and protect historical truth

  • Be committed to accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical standards

Why This Matters


This is more than a research project—it’s a national verification mission. Every verified Freedmen strengthens our population, supports reparations claims, and helps defend the Trust against dilution or misclassification.


As a certified genealogist, you’ll help:


  • Confirm Freedmen status through 1870 Census, slave schedules, and Freedmen’s Bureau records

  • Assist applicants struggling to complete their status documentation

  • Preserve lineage data in a secure, protected system governed by the Trust

  • Build the evidence necessary for reparative legal and economic outcomes

How It Works


  • Recruits will undergo a training period under the guidance of the Lead Genealogist

  • Upon successful completion, Recruits will become Certified Genealogists recognized by the Freedmen Reparations Fund Trust

  • Work may include document analysis, archive retrieval, record interpretation, and direct family interviews


All genealogical work is done within the protection of the Trust to ensure data sovereignty and historical integrity.
