Structure protects sovereignty. Governance protects the mission.
The Declaration of Trust Governance & Oversight is a foundational document that locks in the leadership structure and internal protections of the Freedmen Reparations Fund Trust. It ensures that only verified Freedmen can govern the Trust, and that no outside entity—public or private—can interfere, override, or redirect its purpose.
This declaration is not just about rules.
It’s about protection, control, and self-determination.
What This Declaration Secures
The Trust shall remain private, irrevocable, and governed under Tennessee law
Only the Primary Trustee holds full decision-making power
Supporting Trustees and Verified Administrators may assist—but never override
All governing roles and elected boards must be Freedmen-only
A Resolution & Ethical Review Board will handle disputes and internal ethics
Any attempt to restructure, co-opt, or tamper with Trust operations is legally invalid
All decisions, records, and amendments must be secure and protected from unauthorized access or digital threats
Why It Matters
Reparations without protection will be stolen.
A Trust without firm governance can be hijacked.
This declaration ensures the Freedmen Reparations Fund Trust stays in the hands of Freedmen, and all operations remain transparent, ethical, and sovereign.
It’s not just about who leads—it’s about who is allowed to lead.
And only Freedmen will ever make those decisions.
